Ever
since the announcement of the "welcome offer" by Mukesh Ambani-owned
Reliance Jio networks, which gives unlimited calling and data usage for 3
months,many telecom operators have come
with aggressive plans to counter the
stiff competition from Jio. Earlier, Anil Ambani-led reliance communications launched
a bucket plan of Rs 149. Airtel also launched a similar plan for Rs149.
The latest to join them is Tata Docomo Which announced new plans for its prepaid customers. The good news is you can use old Rs 500 notes for recharge until 15 December 2016.The move comes after the announcement of demonetization by prime minister Narendra Modi on November 8.Tata Docomo said pre-packs will offer maximum voice and data benefits to its customers .The pre- packs are as follows:

- RC 500-talk time of Rs 600
- RC 494-Unlimted local and STD calling for 30 days in home circle
- RC 496-Rs 250talktime and 5GB of 2G/3G data with a 6odays validity
- RC 495-10GB 2G/3G data for 90 days
According
to Docomo spokesperson, the move comes to provide convenience during
demonetization and wants its customers to have hassle free experience. Tata
Docomo also offers 1 GB data for Rs 50.This is similar to what Jio promised
during its launch in early September.
The 'welcome offer' will stay till 31st
December How ever, Jio is more likely to extend welcome offer till 31st March
as the majority of users are complaining regarding call drops and slow data
connections .Also, the majority of the Jio customers are using Jio as the
secondary number.Keeping in view of all the problems Jio is more likely to extend
the welcome offer.
