Hyperloop may soon be a reality in India. Hyperloop is a new mode of passenger and freight transportation that propels a pod-like vehicle through a near-vacuum tube at airline speeds. This news comes from the statement to Economic times by none other than Bibob Gresta, co-founder at Eoin musk backed Hyperloop technologies.

According to him, they are very much eager to come to India and test the technology. Earlier in September India came forward and offered land and granted permission to carry out the Hyperloop project in Pune, located 118 km's from Mumbai. The proposal was offered by union transport minister Nitin Gadkari during his U.S visit. This came at a time when Eoin msk was struggling to for land rights to carry out his hyperloop project in united states.
If hyperloop makes its way to India then you can expect to reach Mumbai In just 35 minutes from Nagpur which is 800km away. Hyperloop can travel at top notch speeds of 1200km/hr where it takes 14 hours to travel by conventional modes like train or car. Also, the travel fares are much lesser when compared to airfare and almost equal to the price of bus ticket.
"He has had the LOI(Letter of Intent) for about two weeks now. Once it is signed we have a feasibility study that takes 6-8 months. Then after we get land permits and appropriate regulation, we can build a technically feasible Hyperloop in 38 months," Gresta said.
Gresta said the company has already signed deals to build a hyperloop between Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.
According to him two indian companies
were involved in the project one whic manufactures tubes and other is an
engineering company. However he did not reveal their identity.
