Pay Back time as India Thrash England by an Innings and 75 runs to seal 4-0 Series Win

What a test match !what a turnaround! .The final test between India and England provided the necessary drama which has been missing since the first test. Chepauk witnessed an absolute thriller and India's unbeaten record stretched to 18 test matches. It was payback time for India as last time England came from behind to defeat the hosts by 2-1 in 2012. India thrash  England to seal the series 4-0. Jadeja provided the fitting finish to the test match by dismissing the last batsman Jake ball. He finished with figures of 7/48 from 25 overs.

It was a Jadeja who started the collapse of English batsmen right after lunch session. England openers played well and retaliated till the lunch session. They fought for close to 40 overs. After lunch, things started to change thanks to Jadeja he picked up three wickets and took a stunner to dismiss in-form Jonny Bairstow off the bowling of Ishant Sharma. However, key wicket of the session turned to be that of England batsman Joe root. He swept a straight delivery from Jadeja.

India appealed only to be denied by the umpire Simon fry. Kohli reviewed after consultation with his players and rightfully so, that resulted in the departure of Root. Then there was a partnership between Ben Stokes and Moeen  Ali that raised hopes in the England dressing room towards the possible draw.

But after tea, things changed dramatically Jadeja troubled the batsmen continuously by targeting the rough and soon drew Moeen Ali into false shot only to be caught by Ashwin at mid on. 

Soon, it was the turn of Ben Stokes who went on the backfoot to turn for the single but the ball stopped on him and he spooned a easy catch to mid-wicket. Although the pitch looked flat, the rapid fall of wickets exerted pressure on the incoming batsmen.

Soon, Kohli brought Mishra into the attack and he was rewarded with the wicket of Liam Dawson. Incidentally, it was the first wicket of the match for Mishra. Kohli then turned to Umesh Yadav and he immediately responded with the wicket of Adil Rashid. Butler, on the other hand, held his end but run out of partners.

With 12 overs remaining in the day Jadeja came back. Broad has survived the first over of his spell but it was not until he succumbed to the first ball of the Jadeja's second over . Soon Jadeja wrapped up the things without any delay and dismissed the No.11 batsmen Jake ball who was fittingly caught one-handed by triple centurion Karun Nair to hand India convincing 4-0 Win over England.

England lost all the ten wickets in 48.2 overs for the addition of just 104 runs with no real demons in the pitch. India have got their hands back on Antony Demelo trophy and the players celebrated in front of the stands.

Although, Ashwin went wicketless in the second innings, he constantly exerted pressure on the batsmen from one end. Jadeja was the star of the second innings and finished with career best figures of 7/48 from 25 overs. Karun Nair was adjudged 'Man of the Match' and Virat Kohli was the 'Man of the Series'.

To summarize England made decent first innings total of 477 tanks to the century by Moeen Ali who contributed with 146 runs.India declared their first Innings at 759/7 mainly due to 199 runs by Rahul and scintillating triple century (303) not out by Karun Nair with contributions coming from Jadeja and Ashwin.England were bowled out for 207 runs, courtesy career best figures of 7/48 by Ravindra Jadeja.
