Apple rumored to release Augmented Reality Smart Glasses in partnership with Carl Zeiss this Year

According to a Rumor, Apple may set its foot on Reality smart glasses segment. Apple is said to be partnering with German company Carl Zeiss AG on a pair of Augmented Reality smart glasses Robert Scoble a well-known American blogger reported the matter on his facebook post.

Apple may release Augmented Reality Smart Glasses in partnership with Carl Zeiss this year

According to him, a Zeiss employee confirmed the partnership between two companies in a conversation that took place at consumer electronic show Las vegas. He further said that the smart glasses could be announced this year itself.

Scoble wrote the matter in his facebook post that read as follows:

"Exclusive news: Apple and Zeiss working together on augmented reality optics.
For the nerds who were at CES and not paying attention to all my posts.
A Zeiss employee confirmed the rumors that Apple and Carl Zeiss AG are working on a light pair of augmented reality/mixed reality glasses that may be announced this year. (I thought it was next year but now that I saw this I believe it will happen this year)".

Earlier at CES, Zeiss displayed a booth in the augmented reality section without any augmented reality products. So he believes Apple has forced Zeiss to keep quiet on the matter.

Earlier Tim cook in various interviews said that Apple has a deep interest in Augmented Reality. He also expressed his views on Augmented reality and rated it above the virtual reality. He also made it clear that they have been investing in Augmented reality and will continue to do so in the long run.
