Chrysler unveils Portal concept car with a Selfie cam, Face recognition, Voice biometrics and DC quick charging

Fiat/Chrysler(FCA) is all set to unveil portal concept car at CES (Consumer electronic show) today in Las vegas. CES is an annual trade show organized by the Consumer Technology Association. Electric cars are not new but the concept car by Chrysler seems to stay ahead of the pack as it is bundled with a whole set of exciting features. Nowadays automakers are focussing more on passenger comfort and entertainment rather than on speed.

Features of the concept car




The SUV/Crossover/Minivan concept comes loaded with whole bunch of new features:
  • According to Chrysler the new concept car comes with face recognition and voice biometrics (where it uses customer's voiceprint for authentication) keeping in mind about the next generation.
  • They say that they made this car to be integral part of the lives rather than serving the purpose of a mere vehicle.
  • The car will have three rows of sitting with sliding doors that slide back and forth just like a fancy locker. The doorway is equipped with a selfie cam and group setting that takes all the information of the passenger and plans a trip accordingly. 
  • Also passengers sitting at the back are provided with a display and can post about their travel experience.
  • There is also a intercom equipped in the car so that the driver can communicate easily with people sitting in the back seats.
  • The electric vehicle can run at a stretch for 250 miles.It also has a DC quick charging facility  and will add additional 150 miles for 15 mins of charge. 
  • The car is further equipped with sensors like Lidar, radar, ultrasonic and camera sensors that enable it to run semi-autonomously and also keeps track on the road for the driver


So far there is no information about the possible sale of vehicle.
