This GIF shows how babies learn to see the world around them every month for their first year on earth

The newborn babies even though have the ability to understand basic things, fake a cry and appreciate art, now it is learned that infants take years clearly see the things around them . Mr. Romesh Angunawela is a consultant eye surgeon at Moor-fields eye hospital in London. He has worked  with an eye clinic called Clinic Compare and developed a GIF that gives us an idea about how a child visualizes the things around them from the first month to the 12 months(1year) of birth.

According to Angunnawela, after the birth of the baby, the visual cortex of the brain learns to process the visual images it encounters. Even surprising thing is that at the time of birth, a baby can only be able to visualize things clearly up to 8-10 cms and their range of vision extends as they start to grow.

Even the baby cannot recognize the parents faces even when they are very close and only can visualize them clearly until when they are two years old. This shows that babies are less coordinated in the beginning at a time their brains start to learn to process the information they receive.

It is only after three months, they recognize their parents and will have their first smile as facial muscles coordination starts to take place quickly. Vision continues to develop gradually as babies start to explore the surroundings around them and are fully developed after they reach two years old.
