Microsoft Patent explains how Voice assistant Cortana can be launched even during a Phone Call

Voice Assistant's like Apple's Siri, Google Assistant, and Microsofts Cortana are very useful to an individual as it can perform a variety of tasks. But these also come with certain limitations where you can't use it while you are talking on a  phone. The voice assistant cannot differentiate your voice while talking on the phone and will not take it as a command. Now Microsoft wants to overcome this barrier and seeks to provide voice assistant available even during phone calls.

Microsoft Patent explains how Voice assistant Cortana can be launched even during a Phone Call

Recently Microsoft has published a patent filing wherein, it describes how we could launch Cortana with a voice command to perform certain tasks, even while doing any other activity on the phone say for example watching youtube, listening to music or even during a phone call. According to the patent, the feature is somewhat limited. The user needs to pin the web pages to device's home screen and Cortana will be able to recall only the pinned web pages.

Say for example, you are on phone call talking about a game to your friend. Then new feature will allow, to activate Cortana with a voice command and get to open a web page about the game with more information so that you can continue the conversation. The patent also describes how this new feature works when not on phone call and involved in other activity on the phone wherein Cortana can launch the websites and read it out. It is however not clear when the feature gets implemented, but it might be included in the rumored Microsoft Surface phone.
