We have reported recently that Motorola is launching the 2017 edition of Moto Z that sports Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. The phone has been spotted in the Geekbench which detailed the specifications of the phone.
According to the latest patent filed by Motorola, the phone is included with the iris scanner which adds the additional level of authentication to the device.
The sketches of the patent show the iris scanner which functions in a similar way as the fingerprint scanner. The presence of iris scanner adds the stronger level of security feature to the device as it is difficult to clone when compared to the fingerprints.
The patent reveals that the iris scanner features a pair of narrow-angle lenses so that the focus will be exact on the user’s eyes. Also, the Moto Z (2017) will have the traditional front fingerprint scanner which is a dedicated one and not embedded under the home button.
As per the Geekbench listing, the model number indicates XT1650 and could be the 2017 edition. Motorola XT1650 sports 1.9 GHz Octa Core Qualcomm MSM8998 SOC chipset which is a Snapdragon 835 processor backed by 4 GB of RAM and runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 is yet to be powered in any flagship device. Samsung Galaxy S8 will be the first device to sport the Snapdragon 835 processor. Other mobiles which sport the same processor include LG G6, Xiaomi Mi6, Xiaomi Mix Evo.
