UC News, the part of Alibaba mobile business group today reported that Reliance Jio is one of the hottest keywords in 2016 along with Salman Khan, Kareena kapoor and Priyanka Chopra.
According to UC News, Reliance Jio had 116 Million page views both in English and Hindi content. This was mainly due to the freebies offered by Reliance Jio paved the way to gain users attention in very short period of time.
With great mobile penetration in India and increase in data speeds, India will soon evolve fast to reach China in market share. UC News has 20 million reader base in China
The video content surged by 30% whereas image content surged 1.2 percent more than the video content. The surge in video content is expected to further increase in India with an increase in mobile internet user, thanks to Reliance Jio.
Also, UC News found out that total time spent to use mobile content from the Internet also surged 230% during October- November period.
The most preferred content in UC News English is Entertainment which is followed by Technology and then Sports. In Hindi content, Entertainment took the first position in popularity followed by Society and Politics.
73% of the readers followed Entertainment category, 58% preferred news, 37% preferred Cricket. The total page views on UC News surged by 290% which is mainly due to Hindi content which has five times more readers than English content.
