After the Samsung galaxy S7 fiasco, where many phones have exploded and forced the company to withdraw defective pieces, now it is the turn of Xiaomi Mi4. A new report surfaced, wherein Xiaomi Mi4 exploded in the classroom packed with students in china.
It is said that the explosion happened when the phone was plugged into charging source and the owner was using the phone inside the classroom itself. Although other details are not clear regarding the incident, the photos of the exploded phone likely suggest it might be due to the battery.
The battery was completely charred that in turn melted the plastic back cover of the smartphone. Even the plastic case was also damaged indicating the impact of the explosion. Luckily no injuries were reported from the incident.
The cause of explosion might be the case of defective battery or the case of using a wrong charger.The complete details emerge only after a detailed investigation is carried out.
The Xiaomi Mi4 was released in 2014. If you look at the specifications Mi4 sports a 5-inch 1080p IPS display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801(MSM8974AC) quad-core processor with a clock frequency of 2.5GHz.
The device is powered by 3GB RAM and two storage variants of 16GB and 64GB respectively. Xiomi Mi4 comes with a battery capacity 3080mAh and is said to reach full charge with in 2.5 hours.
