Samsung Electronics India has released a commercial on Youtube on December 30 which is garnering the likes of Indians. The commercial amassed more than 85 million views as of Feb 9.
The ad was produced Samsung Group’s ad-making unit Cheil Worldwide showcased its reliable and dedicated customer service traveling to far-flung corners of the country with its 535 vans.
This is a four-minute ad with tagline “We will take care of you wherever you are.” The ad starts with a customer from the Himalayas calling the Samsung helpline to get her TV repaired and the customer requests the service engineer to visit her home by 7PM. Then the Samsung service engineer starts his travel to the customer's home on a van. On the way, he encounters few obstacles like fallen tree, road blockage and sheep interfering on the road.
Whatever it takes, the service engineer takes some unexpected turns and finally reaches the customer's home. He then finds that the customer is blind and runs a daycare center for blind children. They are waiting for a TV show where one of the children participated in a singing contest.
This compelling story showcased the scenic beauty of Himalayan ghats with beautiful background music, seems to attract the Indians who love films.
