Xiaomi Mi 5C to sport Omnivision camera sensors, Pinecone processor and 4500 mAh battery: Report

A new rumor regarding the Xiaomi 5C has surfaced online that provides a sneak peak into the specifications of the device. The latest rumor confirms some of the specifications that surfaced earlier. The smartphone is yet to be unveiled in 2017. Earlier rumors also hinted Xiaomi Mi5C to be the first Xiaomi model to feature pinecone processor.

The latest rumor adds weight to the earlier reports and suggests Xiaomi Mi 5C (code-named Meri) will be powered by Xiaomi own Pinecone Octa-core processor along with Mali-T860 GPU. But there is no information on the pinecone SOC chip model number. We have earlier reported Xiaomi is working on two pinecone processor models V670 and V970.  So Xiaomi 5C may sport any one of the pinecone models.

Purported features of Xiaomi 5c

-Xiaomi Mi 5C will sport 5.5-inch 1080P display with 2.5 D curved glass

-The device will be powered by 3GB RAM

-It comes with a storage capacity of 64 GB

-On camera front Xiaomi Mi 5C sports a 12 MP main rear camera with OmniVision OV12870 sensor and another 8 MP front shooter with Omnivision OV8865 sensor

-The device will be backed by 4500 mAh battery

Omnivision feature in cameras enhances the image capture under low light conditions. The interesting feature here is the battery whereas till now Xiaomi has its devices with a battery capacity of 4000 mAh. But Xiaomi Mi5C is rumored to sport 4500 mAh which is 500 mAh more than the existing devices.
