Chinese tech company called Goodix today unveiled an In-display fingerprint sensor at MWC 2017. The company claims that this is the world's first fingerprint sensor integrated into the AMOLED display of mobile devices.
In-display fingerprint sensor turns a defined area of the AMOLED display into a fingerprint sensor. This technology eliminates the need to install dedicated sensor buttons on the chin part or on the back of the phone thus allowing the smartphone makers to develop bezel-less phones.
Goodix claims that the In-Display Fingerprint Sensor consume lesser power further providing a standard electronics interface for easy adaption to the diverse design requirements of mobile devices.
Goodix is a leading mobile biometric and user interface technology company providing solutions to companies like HUAWEI, OPPO, Vivo, Xiaomi, ZTE, LG, Nokia, and ASUS.
