Researchers found that sleeping less than 7 hours and more than 9 hours poses the same amount of effect on obesity. People who sleep longer hours were around 9lbs (4Kg) heavier than the normal and people who sleep short hours were 4.4lbs (2Kg) heavier than the normal people who sleep for a time range between 7hrs to 9hrs.

Researchers also found that the relation between sleep duration and obesity is strongly linked to people with a high genetic risk of obesity. While there is no much significant effect on people with a low genetic risk of obesity.

Researchers say that people should get away from sleeping too long or too short, napping during the day as these have the adverse influence on body weight and the ideal duration to sleep is 8hrs a day.

In the previous research, scientists found that high-intensity exercises can reduce the risk of Type 2 Diabetes and cardiovascular diseases which are commonly influenced from obesity.
