Bollywood star Salman khan is all set to venture into the Smartphone business.This would be bad news for Chinese Smartphones makers that have occupied the large chunk of Indian Smartphone market. Currently, Salman Khan owns a clothing brand Being Human and has registered trademark Being Smart for Smartphones.
According to the source, Salman is in talks with several investors for his smartphone venture and may hold the majority of shareholding directly or through his family. It is learned that he is currently building an operational management team to be headed by professional who was earlier been associated with Micromax and Samsung.
Being Smart will be making Smartphones in the low to mid segments and will be targeting Chinese vendors like Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo. Although Indian Players like Micromax and Intel have been in existence they have been facing stiff competition from the rival Chinese smartphone makers.
Salman has already selected the Chinese plant for the manufacture of the phones and will come under Rs 20000 price Bracket running Android OS. According to the executives Being Smart smartphones would be initially sold online and later will enter into strategic partnership with large cell phones and electronic retail chains. They also hinted selling the smartphones Via Being human stores

The executives also said that proceeds from the profits will go to charity and social work that Salman does through his Being Human foundation
