Researchers Say That Daily Running Would Increase The Life Expectancy By Three Years - No Matter Your Pace And Mileage

A new study reveals that every hour you run, your lifespan gets increased by an extra 7 hours. Scientists say that running is the most effective exercise you should do every day to increase your lifespan. This holds true no matter how many miles you run or how fast you run per hour, scientists claim.

Those who take this advice to their heart can increase their lifespan by additional three years, according to a research done at Iowa State University. The researchers analyzed the data from The Cooper Institute, in Texas and also examined the results from other studies that linked between exercise and mortality and found that the new findings reinforced the earlier research.

Scientists found that the mortality rate reduced by 40% in people who run at whatever pace or mileage. Three years ago, the same group of scientists conducted a study on 55,000 adults and found that running just seven minutes a day could slash the risk of dying from heart diseases.

They followed the participants over a period of 15 years and came to an inference that of the more than 3,000 who died, only one-third of deaths were due to heart disease.

The amount ran over the period of 40 years could add up to less than six months, but it could increase life prospect by more than three years.

The researchers also ascertained that if every non-runner who had been part of the examined subjects took up the sport, there would have been 16 percent fewer deaths overall, and 25 percent fewer lethal heart attacks.

Researchers also say that other types of exercises were also found to be helpful. Walking and cycling decreased the risk of premature death by about 12 percent.
