The world's most valuable startup companies were not founded by the people with gray hair. They founded the company when in the college. People like Bill gates and Paul Allen dropped out of the college to focus on Microsoft; Mark Zuckerberg founded Facebook for their interpersonal communications; Reddit was founded to bring more fun to the world.

Whatever might be the case, the companies founded as startups some years ago are the most valuable companies in the world. Here is the story behind every company how it is founded.

1) Microsoft was founded by Bill gates and Paul Allen while studying at Harvard University. They were programming geniuses and knowing that they made a brave decision to drop out of the university to focus on the company. Smart move...isn't it? And you know, Indian automobile tycoon Anand Mahindra and Bill gates studied together at Harvard.

2) And coincidence is that Mark Zuckerberg was also a Harward student when he determined to help his fellow students connect through a private network. And that is the present day's Facebook which helped connect billions of people to connect to people across the world.

3) The founders of Yahoo, Jerry Yang and David Filo were the electrical engineering students from Stanford when they first started their startup with a weired name called  Jerry and David's Guide to the World Wide Web. That goofy name changed the face of internet later.

4) The 22-year-old Steve Huffman and Alexis Ohanian were two students of the University of Virginia when they first decided to bring more fun to the online world through Reddit.

5) The content management system, Wordpress was created in 2013 by Matt Mullenweg while studying at Houston University.

6) Google founders, Sergey Brin and Larry Page are most known names in the tech world. They serve as an inspiration to many who are in bewildered state whether to take their ideas to realization or not. Google completely transformed the way the web is used today with the web search engine they founded to show more relevant results to the users.

7) Shawn Fanning founded a company, Napster that created a lot of trouble to the music industry but more joy to the music lovers. The company was also founded when he was in college.

8) Bo Peabody and Brett Hershey, two students at William College founded Tripod, another startup from college that enabled people to create their websites free.

9) Dell is the renowned computer technology brand in India. The billion dollar worth company was founded by Michael Dell. He founded the company from the money he earned by selling custom built computers from his dorm room at Texas University.

10) Time magazine is an old but such a significant startup founded in1923 by Briton Hadden and Henry Luce – two graduate students at Yale.
