Xiaomi Mi Max 2 new leaked renders: Type-C USB port, IR blaster and fingerprint sensor


Xaiomi is set to officially launch Mi 6 and Mi plus at an event scheduled for April 19. While everyone has been eagerly waiting for the release of Mi 6, Xiaomi has been said to be working on another phablet Xaiomi Mi Max 2.  According to earlier rumors, xiaomi is said to launch Mi Max 2 alongside Mi 6.

Mi Max 2 is the successor to Xiaomi Mi Max that was released last year. We have earlier reported some of the probable specifications of Mi Max 2 along with the launch date. Today a new image of purported Mi Max 2 has been posted on Weibo by @Ubuntu team. The image shows the device in TPU case. The image clearly reveals the rear side as well as top and the bottom portion of the Mi Max 2.

As per the image, there is a LED flash on the rear camera. The rear side of the phone looks like a single piece of metal, a fingerprint sensor is visible on the rear side of the phablet. The top end of the phone sports a a 3.5mm audio jack, a secondary mic, and an IR blaster. There are speaker grills clearly visible on the bottom end of the phone.The interesting feature in the bottom end is that micro-USB port has been replaced by Type-C port.There are also two additional holes located on either side of USB port.

Coming to the specifications earlier rumors indicated Mi Max 2  will have the same display of 6.44-inches size similar to Mi Max with 1080p resolution.  with regard to the camera, Mi Max 2 will sport 12MP Sοny IMX378 sensor on the rear side and 5 MP front facing camera. The battery will be of 5,000 mAh capacity which is slight upgrade from its predecessor, Mi Max that has 4,850 mAh. battery.



Mi Max 2 is said to be powered by Snapdragon 626 SoC that is the successor to snapdragon 625 SoC. The new 626 SoC is said to offer 10% increase in performance than Snapdragon 625 SoC. Also, the new 626 Soc offers support for dual cameras and will retain the benefits of power and battery saving qualities of snapdragon 625 SoC.

Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is speculated to be priced 1499 Yuan ($217) for the standard version and 1699 Yuan ($246) for the larger variant.
