Here is how you can link your LIC policies to Aadhaar Online and Offline

Linking your insurance policy to Aadhaar is the mandate issued by the government of India. The government has also extended the deadline to March 2018 for the sake of people who have not done the linking. If the Aadhaar linking is not done, the problem might arise at the time of claim settlement. There is a simple process to link the insurance policies with Aadhaar.

Documents required for linking insurance policy with Aadhaar:

1. There is no need for documents to link your Aadhaar but the holder of the policy must have their policy number along with the Aadhaar and PAN number readily available while linking.
2. In case you do not have Aadhaar Number, you are required to render the enrolment number for Aadhaar
3. You are also required to present your PAN details for KYC. If you do not have the PAN, then a copy of an officially valid document needs to be tendered.

The insurance policy can be linked to Aadhaar in two ways - Online and Offline. In offline route, you can visit the nearest LIC branch and submit an application after filling the required details.

Steps to link you LIC policies online with Aadhaar:

1. Open LIC website from the link here
2. Visit the 'link Aadhaar and Pan to policy' present on the home page of LIC website. Alternately you can click the link here directly 
3. An application will now pop-up that will now ask for your email ID and mobile number along with your Aadhaar and PAN numbers
4. Once you fill up the form, an OTP will be sent to your UIDAI registered mobile number. (If you did not link the mobile number with Aadhaar, you need to link that first before doing this process)
5. After submitting the form with all the details, a message will be shown on the success of the registration for linkage.
6. After verification with Aadhaar UIDAI, an SMS or mail confirmation will be sent to you. But the verification may take a few days.
