The heights of the technology are unstoppable and with every passing year, we are witnessing at least one innovation in the smartphone arena. The display size of the smartphone has increased from the 3.5-inch in 2007 to the 6-inch and 5.5-inch display has become the standard today. With the mobile data usage hiking and the digital content peaking, the need of large screen has become a demand by the users.
It is Samsung, who believed in the phablet much before Apple. Now the latest buzz is that Samsung is working on an expandable display, which allows the users to pull out the screen to watch widescreen content. According to the patent filed by Samsung at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, Samsung's new concept has a fixed display at the centre of the smartphone and the user will have two extra display portions as shown in the image above.
This type of display can accommodate viewing home videos, movies, widescreen TV. But the downside could be that the smartphone could be thicker as it needs to accommodate 3 screens.
Samsung gets a thumbs-up for this concept but we have to see if the concept will become a reality or not.
