Google announced on its G Suite Update blog that Gmail will block javascript file attachments from February 13 for security reasons. So if you want to email .js files you may need to hurry as you have only a few days left to do so. .js files will join the list of restricted file types that include .exe, .msc, .bat. If you try to send it on or after February 13, you will receive an in-product warning that says "The message is blocked because its content presents a potential security issue". This decision has been taken to reduce malicious attacks.
What is javascript?
Javascript is a dynamic programming language used for developing web applications that are present inside HTML documents and provides interactivity with web pages which otherwise is not possible using Simple HTML.
Malicious e-mails come with various kinds of executable programs that include standard Windows executables (.exe), batch files (.bat), and even JavaScript files (.js). and tricks users into running them. So you may potentially end up with ransomware or some kind of malware.

However, Google has provided an alternative in case if you want to send .js files for legitimate reasons you may Google Drive, Google cloud storage or other storage solutions to share or send your files.
