Haj Application Process Made Digital; Minority Affairs Ministry Launches Mobile App Dubbed "Haj Committee of India"

In a push towards digital India to promote digital transactions minority affairs ministry has today launched a mobile app dubbed  "Haj Committee of India" for haj application process. The app will provide information and facilitate e-payments for the pilgrimage. It was launched by  Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi at Haj House in south Mumbai.




On this occasion, Naqvi said that the first time that Haj application process is going to be digital.The minister said that government is lending complete support and encouraging online applications for next haj. He further added that going digital facilitates people to avail the opportunity with complete transparency and comfort.

The mobile app is available for download from today. The schedule of next haj has been announced and ministry will accept the applications from today. The last date for Applications was January 24. 


Features of the App

  • The mobile APP works in co-ordination with various Government bodies such as State / UT Haj Committees, Consulate General of India, Jeddah, Ministries of Civil Aviation / Health. 
  • Details of eligibility, the filing of Haj Application Forms, Passport submission, refund, the amount payable, etc. are provided in Guidelines for Haj 2017.
  • The main features of the App include applying for Haj inquiry and information, news and updates and e-payment can also be made within the app itself.
  • Members can also apply as a group that includes five adults and two infants. 
  • Ater completing the application process a pdf copy will be sent to Applicants email.
  • He has to take the print out of the application, affix a passport size photograph and along with the documents has to be sent to the state Haj committees.
  • Registration fees for the application can be made within the app.

Naqvi further added that they launched a new website in New Delhi. The website provides all the necessary information regarding Haj. the website is in three languages Hindi, Urdu and English. The website also gives details about the “Do’s and Don’ts” for the Haj pilgrimage.

 The Mobile App can be downloaded from the Google play store.
