Rumors about companies itching for the launch of foldable display phones have been creating quite a buzz in the smartphone market. Recently Apple and LG are rumored to be working on the foldable models. Now the latest rumor surfaced, that that hints Nokia might be working on the foldable technology or it might not.
Nokia has been granted a patent for a foldable device by the US Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO). Nokia has filed a patent application in 2013 and it has been granted and made public in September last year is now doing rounds on the internet.
The patent diagrams show a device that looks like a pocket mirror. The device contains two parts connected by a hinge. On top, there is the flexible display.The display is foldable when two sides of the device are closed. The patent description says that this flexibility of the display allows small size device to have a large display that may be 6, 7 or 8-inch display or may be even larger.The locking mechanism is very much similar to the laptop computers.
