The image of the Reliance Jio VoLTE-enabled feature phone has been leaked online without showing any other details. The image shows the presence of four buttons below the display and the alphanumeric keyboard like a normal feature phone and also the MyJio, JioTV, JioCinema, and JioMusic app buttons from left to right on the top.
Reliance Jio is reported to use Spreadtrum chipsets for its 4G VoLTE feature phones. The company said it is in talks with Qualcomm and MediaTek for low-cost 4G LTE enabled processors.
The report had also told us the presence of both front and rear cameras on the 4G VoLTE-enabled feature phones. Two Reliance Jio feature phones are said to be in the development stage but the launch date is not available.
The entry of Reliance Jio into the Indian telecom sector has caused massive reforms, with rivals like Airtel, Vodafone and Idea forced to offer competitive plans, and smartphone manufacturers pushing to launch VoLTE-enabled smartphones.
