Details of Xiaomi's Pinecone processor revealed; to feature in two models, with the higher version using 10nm technology as the Snapdragon 835

Earlier we have reported Xiaomi Mi5C to feature Xiaomi's own self-developed Pinecone processor. Although there are no clear details regarding the processor now a leak surfaced which details the features of pinecone processor. Recent rumor revealed Pinecone chipset has a CPU with Cortex-A53 cores in an octa-core architecture said to be as powerful as the Snapdragon 808 chip.

According to the latest information, Xiaomi will be launching to models this year packing pinecone processor. The Model numbers of the models turn out to be V670 and V970. Among them, V670 is the lower end model and Mi 5C would launch with this model.

Features of pine cone processor in Model V670

• The V670 will use four Cortex-A53 large cores and four Cortex A-53 small cores
• The GPU is composed of the Mali-T860 MP4 GPU with a clock speed of 800MHz
• The V670 will also use 28nm manufacturing process

Features of pine cone processor in higher Model V970

• The higher model V970 is rumored to be released  in the fourth quarter this year
• The V970 has core parameter comprising four Cortex-A73 cores and four Cortex-A53 cores in an octa-core architecture
• The CPU is rumored to have a minimum clock frequency of up to 2.0GHz and a maximum clock speed of 2.7GHz. 
• The V970  also comes equipped with a more superior Mali G71 MP12 GPU with a clock speed of 900MHz.
• The high-end model  V970 is also said to be produced using the 10nm technology similar to that of Snapdragon 835.
