Research indicate blue light emitted from LED screens of Gadgets cause Premature aging

we are well aware of the dangers posed by U.V radiation to the skin .U.V radiation is made up of long wave UVA and shortwave UVB rays that penetrate the skin below and cause permanent damage to cells. As a result of which the DNA of cells get damaged and in the long run lead to the abnormal growth of cells leading to skin cancer. Now in today's digital world, every one of us possesses Gadgets and now the researchers are focussing on the long-term ill effects of blue light emitted from LED screens of phones, tablets, and computers.

The blue light emitted from them is called High Energy Visible light(HEV). According to Dr. Seth Forman, of Forman Dermatology in Tampa, there is potential for HEV to have caused some signs of aging that may include wrinkling change in the texture of the skin and Brown spots. However, unlike normal U.V rays where the damage is immediate researchers believe HEV rays will affect the skin in the long run.

These rays penetrate deep into the skin in the due course of time and cause symptoms of Aging. Generally, we use sunscreens to protect our skin from damaging U.V rays. These block the harmful UVA and UVB rays and protect us from the damaging effects of these rays to the skin.  However, Researchers believe that even the sunscreens cannot block the high energy visible rays which further complicates the situation.

There is some evidence that antioxidants and fractionated melanin, bleached version of regular melanin provides a barrier to HEV light and you’ll notice more skin-care lines are producing antioxidant-infused sunscreens. According to  Dr. Foreman apart from using sunscreens to block HEV rays, he suggests adjusting the blue light setting on our computers which can be done by navigating to control panel.
