BSNL revises STV 339 to offer 84GB 3G data (3GB/day) plus unlimited calling to any network for 28 days

The state-run telecom operator BSNL has revised the existing prepaid plan of Rs 339 which now offers  3GB of 3G data per day and free calls with a validity of 28 days. Previously 339 plan offered 2GB data and unlimited calls to any network for 28 days.

STV 339: Unlimited local & STD Calls to BSNL + Unlimited local & STD to others with daily FUP limit of 25 minutes, After 25 minutes, 25paise/minute will be charged + Unlimited Data with daily FUP limit of 3GB without speed restriction, After 3GB, data speed will be limited to 80Kbps (Plan is valid from 18th March 2017)

The new plan from BSNL is for sure going to give a tough competition to Jio which is offering Rs 309 with a daily data limit of 1GB. The current plan from BSNL will definitely lure more customers as the additional spend of Rs 36 users can avail triple the amount of data offered by Reliance Jio.

BSNL has also revamped the previously launched STV 99 (Kolkata TD, WB, Bihar, JKD, Assam, Gujarat, MP, CG, MH, Rajasthan), STV 119 (UPE, UPW, Uttaranchal) and STV 139 (HR, OR, PUN, AP, J&K, KTK, Chennai TD, NE-I/II, TN) plans where they previously offered 300 MB data and unlimited calls with a validity of 28 days. The revamped plan Rs 99 now gives additional 200 MB data that translates to 500 MB data for 28 days.

On the other hand, BSNL has levied some restrictions on the unlimited calling for Rs 339 plan. calls are unlimited within  BSNL networks but for off-net calls (calls made to other networks) BSNL has limited the calls for 25 minutes thereafter the users will be charged 25 paise per minute. This is where Jio gains an upper hand as it offers all of its plans with unlimited calling. The revamped plan from BSNL comes in handy for users who use more data and fewer phone calls.
