Apple iPhone 8 will feature a flat screen with bezel-less on all sides and facial recognition scanner with 3-D sensors: Report

Apple, with its new iPhone, touted to be released later this year is likely to revamp in all the areas - be the design, software and hardware. The first major shift comes from the display department. Apple, for the first time, is going to use Organic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED) in contrast to the LCD used in its previous iPhones.

The second and more interesting trait is that the iPhone 8 is most likely to feature a Bezel-less display on all the four sides. But, the previous reports asserted that iPhone 8, like the Samsung Galaxy S8, will be featuring an edge to edge display. Apple is most unlikely to follow the Samsung's suite according to the latest hearing from the Taipei-based KGI Securities analyst Ming-chi Kuo, who is recognized for his iPhone-related predictions. According to him, the availability of iPhone will be further postponed from October due to the inadequate availability of OLED displays. Apple is dependent on Samsung for the OLED displays who is renowned for its manufacturing.

Apple iPhone 8 will feature a flat-screen with completely bezel-less on the top and bottom alongside the two sides. Having an OLED display makes the iPhone further thinner, lighter and energy efficient compared to its previous versions.

Apart from the display department, iPhone 8 will have another latest feature -  facial recognition scanner. The scanner deeply senses a user face in just a millionth of a second. The iPhone 8 is also likely to come with 3D sensors which will be placed on rear and front of the device and can support augmented reality applications.

Lastly, the most awaited feature -  in-display fingerprint reader is unlikely to be present in the iPhone 8 as both Samsung and Apple failed to successfully integrate the scanner into the display due to some technical difficulties.
