In 2011, China had launched Tiangong-1, a prototype which was aimed to be a permanent space station for China. It continued its operations for 5 years thereon, after which in September 2016 China had declared that they lost control over Tiangong-1, meaning that the space station would come bumping back to earth at some point in time.
Till now, where exactly the space station would hit the earth was a mystery and a lot of predictions and calculations were made in this regard. This 9.5-ton space station is now prognosticated to hit the earth somewhere near Spain and Portugal, France and Greece.
Initially, this uncontrolled reentry of the space station was thought to take place in the latter half of 2017, which was later pushed back to October 2017 and April 2018. But now the window is further narrowed down and a more specific time frame for the space station reentry is defined. According to the space scientists of China, the Tiangong-1 would hit the aforesaid countries anywhere between March 29 and April 9. The location is located between 43 degrees N and 43 degrees that include Spain Portuguese, Greece and France.
In the history of spaceflight, there were no incidents known about any harm by the space debris because the space station is expected to disintegrate upon reentry to earth.
The space station, Tiangong-1 was in the earth's orbit for 5 years working for Chinese National Space Administration and acted as a base for two missions.
