Xiaomi will be launching Redmi Note 4X in few days to go. But, there is no much excitement as Redmi Note 4X is only slightly upgraded version of Redmi Note 4. Except for processor, rest of the hardware remains the same in Redmi Note 4X.
Now in a new leak, it is understood that Xiaomi is working on a new phone that could be the Redmi Pro 2 that sports the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor which is yet to be released by Qualcomm. The Snapdragon 660 will come in an octa-core setup with a two set of quad-core processors. It may be the first mid-range chipset to integrate the Qualcomm’s Kyro architecture which loses the exclusivity of the Snapdragon 800 series.

The information about this has come from a weibo user ‘@grass digital' who says that Xiaomi is working on SD 660 based phones likely to be Redmi or a new Xiaomi series similar to the Xiaomi Max.
SD 660 processor is built on 14nm process technology unlike the SD653 and SD 562 which are based on 28nm process technology. Hence we can expect the latest phone to be thinner and lighter than the previous versions of the Redmi devices.
