Xiaomi's high-end Pinecone processor to feature in Xiaomi Mi 6S and Mi Note 3: Sources

The details about the Xiaomi's self-made Pinecone processor has been surfacing online and very recently, the specifications of the processor have come out from sources. It is also known that the Pinecone processor will be sported on Xiaomi Mi 5C phone which is expected to be the first ever Xiaomi phone with Pinecone processor.

The Pinecone processor is said to be equivalent to the Snapdragon 808 chipset in terms of specifications and performance which is found in Xiaomi Mi 5C. 

Now it turns out that Xiaomi will be using the self-made Pinecone processor to several high-end phones to replace the Snapdragon and MediaTek processors.

Xiaomi is working on two processor models that differ the specifications. The V670 will use four Cortex-A53 large cores and four Cortex A-53 small cores. The GPU is composed of the Mali-T860 MP4 GPU with a clock speed of 800MHz. The V670 will also use the 28nm process technology. This processor is said to be used in the Xiaomi Mi 5C.

The second processor is a higher model V970 is rumored to be released in the fourth quarter this year. The V970 has core parameter comprising four Cortex-A73 cores and four Cortex-A53 cores in an octa-core architecture. The CPU is rumored to have a minimum clock frequency of up to 2.0GHz and a maximum clock speed of 2.7GHz. The V970  also comes equipped with a more superior Mali G71 MP12 GPU with a clock speed of 900MHz. The high-end model  V970 is also said to be produced using the 10nm process technology similar to that of Snapdragon 835. This processor is said to used in Xiaomi Mi 6S and Mi Note 3 which are gearing up to release in the fourth quarter of this year.
